TRUMP PENCE WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 03.10.18

TAX CUTS DELIVER RESULTS

Working Americans are now seeing the results of President Trump’s historic tax cuts. At the “Tax Cuts to Put America First” event in Iowa, Vice President Pence said that the administration will always put American workers, American companies and American farmers first. Already, President Trump has created three million new jobs, resulting in the lowest jobless claims in nearly 50 years and the lowest unemployment rate in 17 years. Now the President is setting his sights on the next major changes that will fuel our booming economy and create millions more new jobs.

FREE AND FAIR TRADE

Washington has been up in arms regarding President Trump’s plans to apply new tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum, but let’s consider the facts. The President’s number one objective is economic growth – and now he’s focused on trade. The U.S. is constantly on the losing end of trade with a $566 billion trade deficit just last year, so we must level the playing field for American companies and American workers. On the steel and aluminum tariffs, the President has stated that he will consider exemptions on a country by country basis. After a careful review, President Trump can now act strategically in our best interests without looking for a trade war. Ultimately, the President wants fair, free and reciprocal trade deals from now on.

ISRAEL PARTNERS FOR PEACE

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Trump in the Oval Office this week for the first time since the President recognized Jerusalem as the rightful capital of Israel. Both leaders reaffirmed the great friendship shared by our two countries. While the U.S. continues the hard work to forge a peace deal between Israel and Palestine, President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu also addressed Iran’s support for terrorism and the threat it poses across the Middle East, pledging to counter the regime’s nuclear ambitions.

THE US VS. CALIFORNIA

This week, the Department of Justice sued the State of California for recently passing laws that interfere with the government’s ability to enforce federal immigration law. After California and some of its cities have repeatedly blocked law enforcement at workplaces and against criminal illegal aliens, the Trump administration is now going to “fight these unjust, unfair, and unconstitutional policies” that thwart the will of the American people.
